ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Joana Meurkens is a Brazilian-German multidisciplinary artist based in New York City whose practice explores intimacy, identity, and the simplistic beauty of human connection. Working across photography and other art forms, her work captures the people and environments in her community, examining individuality and the layered experience of mixed identity through an intimate and honest lens.

A graduate of New York City's LaGuardia High School of Music & Art Meurkens’ photography has been featured in Art Week Miami, Global Citizen Festival, and NYMag.
